Robin on Cedar

Apparently American Robins (Turdus migratorius) aren’t affected by cedar pollen the way practically every human in Central Texas is. Here’s one seen perched on the top of a male cedar (or Mountain Juniper if you want to be strictly correct) covered in pollen sacs. Between Christmas and the end of January, don’t even think about venturing outside in the Texas Hill Country unless you’ve taken some serious anti-histamines first.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/11
  • Camera: E-M1MarkII
  • Focal length: 210mm
  • ISO: 200
  • Shutter speed: 1/500s
