Kyle Busch at COTA

NASCAR came to Austin this weekend and I spent yesterday morning out at Circuit of the Americas taking in the action. I had intended spending the whole day but solid, heavy rain all morning left me soaked to the skin and squelching around in waterlogged (and, apparently, not-quite-as-waterproof-as-advertised) hiking boots, so ,when 11am arrived with no immediate prospect of improving conditions, I called it a day and headed home.

Although only there for a few hours, I did manage to grab quite a few exposures so I’ll be posting a few of them this week. Today’s image shows Kyle Busch in his XFinity Series Toyota during qualification for yesterday afternoon’s race. Busch went on to take the chequered flag at the head of a 36 car field.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/9.5
  • Camera: E-M1MarkII
  • Focal length: 227mm
  • ISO: 200
  • Shutter speed: 1/250s
