Sunrise at Marlboro Point

One of the most spectacular locations we visited during last week’s trip to Utah was Marlboro Point, a spit of land with an amazing canyon overlook at the end of a very tricky dirt trail between Canyonlands National Park and Dead Horse Point State Park. The journey out here for sunrise was quite an adventure with ten of us traveling in four off-road vehicles, stopping frequently to let someone out to act as spotter as we traversed rocky ledges and washed out areas. This is not somewhere the average tourist car can reach but I’m so glad my friends had appropriately-equipped transport because the location we eventually found ourselves at was absolutely stunning.

For the technically inclined...

  • Camera: E-M1MarkII
  • Exposure bias: -1.5EV

  • ISO: 400
  • Shutter speed: 1/125s
