Ramblin’ Wreck

We’ll take a break from Utah landscapes today since I promised some folks that I would post a few images from my recent trip to Atlanta where I was fortunate enough to photograph the Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket Marching Band during the annual rivalry game between Tech and the University of Georgia Bulldogs. In this image, we see the Ramblin’ Wreck of Georgia Tech entering Bobby Dodd Stadium at the end of the band’s pre-game show.

The Ramblin’ Wreck, immortalised in the school’s official fight song, is a 1930’s Model A Ford and, as the official mascot of Georgia Tech football, makes an appearance at all games both on the field and also in various parades outside the stadium prior to kick-off.

You can find all my pictures from the day at https://davewilson.smugmug.com/Yellow-Jacket-Band/Georgia-November-27th-2021/.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/5.6
  • Camera: E-M1MarkII
  • Focal length: 14mm
  • ISO: 200
