Whitetail Buck

Deer are a common sight in these parts and, as more of the area is developed, we see more and more on our (still pretty wild) lot. Earlier this week, this handsome whitetail buck was one of a small group grazing in our front yard. I grabbed the camera and took a few frames which, since this was 15 minutes or so after sunset on an overcast day, turned out rather noisy. Undeterred, I fed this one through Topaz Photo AI and this is the result. The noise reduction and detail retrieval capabilities of that tool are absolute magic.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/4
  • Camera: OM-1
  • Exposure bias: -1EV
  • Focal length: 300mm
  • ISO: 6400
  • Shutter speed: 1/250s
