Balanced Rock

Texas only has one National Park but it’s a doozy. Big Bend National Park covers a vast and spectacular area in the far west of the state, and has become a favourite long weekend trip destination for me after a couple of visits during the pandemic. I took this image back in April 2021 while on an early morning hike up the Balanced Rock Trail with Jason Flenniken who just happened to be visiting the park the same weekend.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/5.6
  • Camera: E-M1MarkII
  • Focal length: 7mm
  • ISO: 200
  • Shutter speed: 1/15s
