Max Scherzer at Round Rock

I’m the first to admit that I know nothing at all about baseball so the significance of the opening pitcher for Round Rock Express last night in their game against the Tacoma Rainiers was completely lost on me. I later learned that this is Max Scherzer, opening pitcher for the Texas Rangers, who is currently recovering from injury and playing for the AAA feeder team while in rehab. Scherzer is a three-time winner of the Cy Young Award given annually to the best pitcher in Major League Baseball, and is tipped for a spot in the Baseball Hall of Fame.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/6.3
  • Camera: OM-1
  • Focal length: 400mm
  • ISO: 2500
  • Shutter speed: 1/1000s

Wow, that’s such a great shot of Max Scherzer. Your photography really pops the intensity and focus that Scherzer brings on the bump. The technical details you shared about the shot were so informative for fellow photographers. Keep it up!
