I was delighted to find that there are Antarctic Terns (Sterna vittata georgiae) nesting at Godthul on South Georgia where we spent yesterday afternoon. I’ve always loved these birds – they have such classically beautiful lines and a great life story. Each year, they experience two summers, circumnavigating the planet to spend time in both the Antarctic and Arctic regions.
