I love the Utah desert and, specifically, the area around Hanksville and Factory Butte. The sheer variety of different terrain types found within a ten mile or so radius is quite incredible. This drone vertorama illustrates several of these. It was taken from the area around the Mars Research Center where you can find amazingly colorful red, orange and purple ring patterns in the round, eroded hillocks. In the distance, Factory Butte stands surrounded by a totally different set of more-or-less linear erosion features.
