Delving far back into the depths of my unpublished racing pictures, I found this image of Daniel Ricciardo during qualifying for the United States Grand Prix on October 25th, 2015. That was definitely the most memorable F1 race weekend at Circuit of the Americas so far, but not for any reason related to racing. The remnants of Hurricane Patricia dumped around 9 inches of rain on the circuit during Friday and Saturday, and washed out all activity for the first two days of race weekend. That activity included the normally scheduled qualification session on Saturday so this was pushed back to early on Sunday morning instead. It was still wet at 9am when I took this shot but, thankfully, the track and weather had dried up somewhat by race time.
