Iceberg A-76B was the second largest of three main fragments of the A-76 iceberg which broke from the Filchner–Ronne Ice Shelf in Antarctica in May 2021. This particular iceberg was somewhere between 15 and 20 miles long and 6 or 7 miles wide and was drifting 170 or so miles northwest of South Georgia when this picture was taken on December 22nd, 2024. When A-76 originally calved, it was 110 miles long and 16 miles wide. As of today, however, only A-76C is still being tracked by the US National Ice Center indicating that the other two siblings, A-76A and A-76B, have either completely melted or are now smaller than 20 square nautical miles in size.
