Point Wild Glacier




A section of the glacier at Point Wild on Elephant Island at the north eastern end of the South Shetlands chain in Antarctica. 22 members of the crew of Sir Ernest Shackleton’s ill-fated Endurance expedition camped in front of this glacier for 4 months prior to their rescue on 30th August, 1916.
