NASCAR’s first visit to Circuit of the Americas for the EchoPark Texas Grand Prix on May 22nd, 2021 was undoubtedly the wettest, most uncomfortable day of photography I’ve ever had. The rain was torrential, and my boots literally filled up with water that morning. Apparently the second day of racing was a lot drier but I had given up around lunchtime on Saturday and squelched my way home.
Here’s an image from that event showing the late, great Kyle Busch driving Joe Gibbs Racing car number 18. Busch ended up taking 10th place that weekend.
