Football is Back!

Yesterday was the 2026 season opening football game for the Texas Longhorns so I was back covering the Longhorn Band. It was a swelteringly hot, humid day that proved too much for me so I had to leave after half time, but I still ended up with plenty of photos. Here’s one that regular readers will likely recognize since I take a variation of it at pretty much every game. The Longhorns finished the afternoon with a 58-7 win over the Texas State Bobcats.

You can find my images of the game at https://davewilson.smugmug.com/UT-Longhorn-Band/2026/Texas-State-September-5th and the combined gallery from all the Longhorn Band photographers at https://utexasbands.smugmug.com/LonghornBand/2026/2026-09-05-vs-Texas-State.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/13
  • Camera: OM-1
  • Exposure bias: +5/10EV
  • Focal length: 150mm
  • ISO: 200
  • Shutter speed: 1/45s
