George at Tesuque Glass Works

Tesuque Glassworks is always on our “must visit” list whenever we visit Santa Fe. On this trip, we bought a few more glasses to fill out a set and George was kind enough to walk us through the process of making one from scratch.

I find glass blowing absolutely fascinating – the collection of weird and wonderful shaping tools used, the fiery kilns, molten glass and interesting powders that are rolled onto the workpiece are all enormously interesting. If I didn’t spend so much time with photography, I could definitely see myself working with glass in some shape or form.
