Sunrise from Oxbow Bend

This morning’s sunrise location in Grand Tetons National Park was Oxbow Bend, a very well known and somewhat crowded viewpoint on the Snake River. The peak in the distance is Mount Moran which rises to a height of 12,605 feet above sea level. The main challenge this morning was mosquitos which appear to be ubiquitous along the banks of the park rivers and lakes (but, thankfully, not at all a problem when you get a few hundred yards away from the water).

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/16
  • Camera: NIKON D810
  • Focal length: 56mm
  • ISO: 64
  • Shutter speed: 1s
