Old Copra Shed, Savusavu

Although tourism is now Fiji’s number one industry, for a large part of the island’s history, coconut processing held this place. Savusavu has a couple of “copra sheds” on the waterfront where coconuts were processed into food, oil and fibre before being exported. This one is now home to a butcher’s shpop, the Wai Tui pub and a the fabulous Blue Sea Restaurant that makes really great fish and chips for a mere $2.50 US ($5 Fijian).

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/8
  • Camera: X20
  • Focal length: 20.2mm
  • ISO: 200
  • Shutter speed: 1/640s
