Pedernales Falls State Park, Johnson City, Texas

My favourite local park is definitely Pedernales Falls State Park. Their address is “Johnson City” but the park is situated about as far from any decent-sized town as you can get in this area. For us, it’s a 30 minute drive west but it’s a drive well worth taking. The central attraction in the park is a series of rock shelves over which the Pedernales River pours and through which the river has carved a fascinating set of channels and pools. Downstream from this area you will also find beautiful, lazy sections of the river with banks edged by huge cyprus trees, a great bird blind and butterfly garden, and miles of Texas hill country hiking trails.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/22
  • Camera: NIKON D810
  • Focal length: 70mm
  • ISO: 31
  • Shutter speed: 3s

Very nice Dave, love those swirls, did you get your lens issue straightened out?

I picked up a replacement this weekend. Insurance is going to cover it.
