Enchanted Rock near Fredericksburg, Texas

I’ll be out at Enchanted Rock State Natural Area near Fredericksburg tonight, hoping to catch some clear skies and good stars. Although I’ve visited the rock several times, I’ve never been there for sunset or night so am looking forward to a chance to see it literally under a different light. This is a shot I took on my last visit on a hot, overcast, muggy day back in August 2016. It’s a testament to how good phone cameras are these days that I didn’t even realize this wasn’t an SLR shot until I had finished editing it!

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/2.2
  • Camera: iPhone 6
  • Focal length: 4.15mm
  • ISO: 32
  • Shutter speed: 1/1600s

Wow! Really like how it turned out! The lines are great! I have a feeling someday that regular cameras won’t be needed anymore. It’s kind of going that way now. I find myself using my phone more and more, esp now that one can go raw with them…
