Red-Eyed Tree Frog, Costa Rica

The much-beloved Red-Eyed Tree Frog (Agalychnis callidryas) has become a symbol of Costa Rica and you see it portrayed all over the country in tourist materials, on billboards and in advertising. We found this one while taking a guided night tour of Rainmaker Forest Preserve near Quepos last week.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/9.5
  • Camera: NIKON D500
  • Exposure bias: -1EV
  • Focal length: 90mm
  • ISO: 800
  • Shutter speed: 1/45s
