This butte outside Hanksville, Utah, was one of my favourite locations during our recent NxNW trip. The play of light on its sides as the sun rose was mesmerizing and offered so many great textures and patterns to photograph. I posted a drone image a few days ago but here’s one from the ground showing the front edge of the butte just before the sun edged above the horizon.
