Duquesne Incline

The Duquesne Incline is a cable incline railway opened in 1877 which transports passengers from river level, 400 feet to the top of what was then know as Coal Hill (now Mount Washington) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The observation deck at the upper station offers a fabulous view of the city skyline and we visited it twice during our recent NxNW trip to the city.

A fair bit of their income on the morning of July 21st was undoubtedly from members of our group riding up and down one at a time to ensure that the others could capture images of the skyline with the incline car in the frame.

For the technically inclined...
