Blacksmith Jim Ferrell

Jim Ferrell is the resident blacksmith at the Dr. Pound Historic Farmstead in Dripping Springs, Texas. My youngest loves to visit Jim on a Saturday because he’s delighted to show kids his craft and, if it’s not too busy, let them try some blacksmithing. You can read more about Jim’s work on his web site at Sparklin Iron Works.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/5.6
  • Camera: NIKON D810
  • Focal length: 92mm
  • ISO: 800
  • Shutter speed: 1/350s
