Sitagu Buddha Vihara

Saturday was the annual World Wide Photo Walk and, this being 2020, it was rather different from usual. Instead of gathering in groups to photograph the local area, photographers were asked to take part in solo expeditions instead. My chosen venue was a Burmese Buddhist community that I had heard about for the first time last week and which is only a few miles from our house.

Sitagu Buddha Vihara is about 5 miles from the western edge of Austin in a secluded area of the Hill Country. The community is centre around this gorgeous, golden temple. You can’t, of course, see the colour in this monochrome, infra-red image but I’ll post some picture taken with my “normal” camera in upcoming days.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/8
  • Camera: E-M5MarkII
  • Focal length: 7mm
  • ISO: 200
  • Shutter speed: 1/320s
