Castlebank Courtyard

We’ll stay in Scotland today with another image from our summer 2019 trip. This one has a fair amount of personal significance as it shows the entrance into the Castlebank House courtyard. The house sits at the centre of Castlebank Park, the main public park in the town of Lanark where I grew up. Our house was about a quarter of a mile from the park entrance and I spent a great deal of time here as a child, playing on the playground equipment when younger, sledging down the hill immediately to the right of this location during the winter, and, as a tween and teen, exploring the endless forests along the steep sides the River Clyde valley just two minutes walk away.

No visit back to Lanark is complete without a trip to Castlebank Park and a wander along some of the extensive valley walking trails accessible from it.

For the technically inclined...
