Chisos Mountains

Let’s move away from Balanced Rock this week for some wider views of Big Bend National Park. I should warn, however, that, as with pretty much all Big Bend pictures I’ve seen, these completely fail to get across the sheer scale and grandeur of the park. You really have to visit to see how gorgeous it is.

This image was taken from the Grapevine Road as we headed back from Balanced Rock last Saturday morning. The light on the Chisos Mountains was fantastic but it was rather hazier than I would have liked.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/8
  • Camera: E-M1MarkII
  • Focal length: 100mm
  • ISO: 200
  • Shutter speed: 1/500s
