Sunset Point, Capitol Reef National Park

The most colourful sunset we saw during the Utah trip was, appropriately enough, from Sunset Point in Capitol Reef National Park. This park, which I knew practically nothing about before our visit, was a great surprise offering some of the most spectacular vistas of the week.

On this particular evening, we set up with a cloudless sky and few expectations of much colour but, as the sun set, some interesting clouds bubbled up and we were treated to a great show first in the eastern sky, seen here, and shortly afterwards in the west.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/9.5
  • Camera: E-M1MarkII
  • Focal length: 54mm
  • ISO: 200
  • Shutter speed: 1/15s
