Gotcha!

One of the competitors catches her calf and pulls up in the breakaway roping competition at Dripping Springs Rodeo on Saturday, May 28th, 2022.

On a photographic note, this photo used a higher ISO setting than any image I’ve ever shot using an Olympus camera (12800ISO). It’s pretty grainy but, to me, perfectly acceptable and certainly a great deal better than similar frames shot on the older OM-D E-M1 mk II bodies. The OM-1 does a great job of maintaining colour and contrast at higher ISOs.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/4
  • Camera: OM-1
  • Exposure bias: -1EV
  • Focal length: 300mm
  • ISO: 12800
  • Shutter speed: 1/500s
