Back on December 31st, we were delighted to be able to watch a couple of Humpback Whales (Megaptera novaeangliae) spend about an hour feeding all around the ship while it was anchored at Salpetriere Bay. They circled the boat, following a regular enough path that I could get good pictures of them as they broke the surface, scooping up massive volumes of krill-laden water on each cycle.
