Icebergs at Cape Tuxen

The big Antarctic adventure is almost over, unfortunately. Our journey back to Ushuaia has been fine so far with the Drake Passage proving less daunting than the stories and the Wednesday weather forecast suggested. The worst of the forecast storm passed during the night and I slept right through it, getting up this morning to a slow 3 to 4m swell and no repeat of the seasickness that hit me during our journey to South Georgia.

This will likely be my last post until I get home and it was taken on our second to last day in Antarctica at Cape Tuxen, our mainland landing site and also the place where Scott first set foot in Antarctica.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/4
  • Camera: OM-1
  • Exposure bias: +1EV
  • Focal length: 61mm
  • ISO: 200
  • Shutter speed: 1/1000s
